Maha Shiva Ratri: The Grand Night of Lord Shiva

According to the Vedic Calendar, Maha Shiva Ratri happens on 10 March 2013. This is the Grand Night of Lord Shiva. Shiva is the supreme abode - the Self: Maha Deva - God of gods. He is our deepest meditation - the eternal witness: our own least excited state of non dual awareness - pure consciousness. The unmanifest source of creation - the home/Unified Field of all the laws of nature; He is the silent, eternal, non changing source of all change and diversity.

Shiva, Rudra & Saturn
When that most auspicious level of deep silence becomes lively and dynamic - it is called Rudra: the redeemer. Rudra is vibrating silence. Rudra purifies flaws and imperfections by dissolving them back into their unmanifest state: bringing everything 'home' to rest, back to its state of least excitation or quiescence or peace.
There are 11 Rudras or redemptive aspects of Shiva. Shani (the planet Saturn) is one of them. Of the 9 planets, Shani/Saturn is the teacher of life's lessons, the bringer of karmic retribution. Shani rules grief, obstacles, separation, sorrow, delays, chronic disease, hard work and old age.

This time is particularly important for Saturn as he turns retrograde or backward in motion on February 18 (17 degrees Libra) and remains in this backward phase for nearly 5 months until 8 July (10 degrees Libra). Saturn's malefic / harmful nature is increased during his retrograde phase. Those with planets in Libra, Aries, Capricorn and Cancer are likely to experience the down side of Saturn's nature during his retrograde phase from February - July this year 2013.

Protection from harmful effects of Saturn- Grand Rudra Yagya (Maha Rudraabhishek)
Due to the relationship between Shiva, Rudra & Saturn, Grand Rudra Yagya (Maha Rudraabhishek) is one of the most potent and effective remedies against the negative effects of Saturn in our life. Grief, long term problems and disease - situations that won't resolve or move forward can be radically impacted for the better with proper application of this remedy.

Trayambakeshwar Jyotir Lingam in Nasik, Maharashtra is one of the 12 principal seats of Lord Shiva in India. Out of thousands of Shiva temples these 12 'Jyotir' or Self effulgent Lingams (lit from within) occupy a class of their own as the greatest, most celebrated & most powerful centres of Shiva's energy in the world. The lingams (murthis or idols) in these temples are all 'swambhu' or self created - not man made. Some hold Trayambakeshwar to be the first Jyotir Lingam. It is one of the 5 amrit sthanams or most sacred places in India; Kumbha Mela is held here. It is also mentioned in the Vedic literature. Yagyas and pujas have been performed here for thousands of years. More important, the experience of Lord Shiva's presence or darshan in these temples is unparalleled. For this reason millions of devotees come from far and wide each year to bathe in that experience of wholeness and peace which surpasses the understanding. And as a result of the profound presence of Lord Shiva at these Jyotir Lingams, yagyas performed here deliver maximum benefits.

The green light was given to J's new show (after saraswathi yagya) - discussions about giving it the go-ahead had earlier stalled with indications that it would not be commissioned. Production is now underway and all is going smoothly.

Thought you might like to know that J's new show (which we had the (saraswathi) yagya done for in July) has consistently been number one for the last couple of months. Everyone agrees it is punching about its weight. Very cool.
All the best

Hi Ganesh
It was probably the strongest influence I have ever felt in the performance of a yagya. Meaning, I felt immediately when it began every day... Meditations were profound with deep transcending.. a whole new level of experience.

Dear Ganesh
Things are now much calmer. But it certainly has been a rocky few months.
We did sell the house ... now after all that has happened in the world - the stock market collapse etc - I feel that we were very fortunate, the financial context is much clearer now.
All is well.

On the cosmic scale - all is as you predicted. The emotional upheavals have been unrelenting but I felt very supported all along the way - an island of calmness in the midst of the storm.
So in brief, it's all on track - all is as it should be. So thanks again.
Your advice was wonderful and the yagyas worked.

"What a yagya. I think my whole physiology is changing... I think this must be the best yagya ever...The impacts keep on coming. I can feel the pundits coming and going. It is amazing...Can you book me a place for next year?"
PR - Melbourne, Australia

On the days of the yagyas, I devoted myself to saadhana (spiritual practice)- actually I tried to "do" saadhana but could "do" nothing except lie in the saadhana room in a semi-swoon, feeling like I was being "done". The energy was so powerful I was totally unable to function, so I surrendered to it. I suppose this is normal.
I hope you are well and everything is shining in your world.
